QUESTIONS ON EDUCATION, LEARNING AND TEACHING THAT HE/SHE IS FACING

Is really students are getting knowledge or they just doing “ratification” or doing rat race? Is in this way of education system in our country is promoting rat race?

Yes, our education system promoting rat race in our country. Students are evaluated in our institutions not on the basis of their abilities but are more of a rote memory test. He just learning and grabbing the knowledge but not understanding it. And he is even not using that knowledge practically in daily life. So, this kind of education system must be change. Our aim should be about providing quality of knowledge not on quantity of knowledge. Our education system should be qualitative instead of a quantitative. So a student who scores 90 out of 100 and comes first actually remains a rat. I mean to say he or she does not have any analytical skills that a child must have.

Does our education system is helping to develop personality of a child?

Today’s education is all about getting good marks in examination. Children do not get time to explore them or explore their ideas in world. Developing personality is also importance as getting good marks is also important. To develop personality in child school, college, institute must organize vocational activities or there must be vocational course so that child can enhance its talent through these vocational course and vocational subject.

“Now a day’s children are not critically analyzing things, they just following the establishment”, is this statement is true?

Children should know to learn their own culture, Religion and they should know to explore their own thinking as just following the textbooks is not just enough. Everybody have see things from their own view. This will help them to share their ideas with others and this improves a child thinking power. So, children should just not follow others but must establish their narratives.

Why does our education system make Bachelor of education course of 2 years? What are the reasons?

The reason may be is that teacher themselves are not trained and efficient enough to teach kids. There should be training institutions, workshops or programmers for the teachers to update their knowledge according to the needs of the present era. This cause a problem that teacher may be not able to understand the children physcology or their problem. As teachers are called as children’s second parents and school is called as children’s second house. So teacher should be more friendly and understandable with children. Our education system make this course for two years because earlier teachers may be unable to make comfortable level with children, may be they are less trained for their duty or less trained to handle children because children should be handle with care and love.

Over-emphasis English as medium of communication in our country is wrong or right?

It hardly matters which language we are using when we are knowledgeable person. Knowledge of a person speaks more than a language. Obviously, while interacting with western people we need to know English language as it is international language but knowledge depends on the quality of facts and rules and knowledge but on the medium of communication of that person. To learn English is must but it should not be over-emphasized. HINDI is our national language but if you do not know English then you are counted as illiterate. Why? May be I having master degree but if you cannot speak English properly, you are treated as inferior. In Germany, Belgium, Spain, France etc there are very few people know English. But still Italy is counted as one of the cultured and advanced country and there national language is given more importance in their countries more than English and they are counted as one of the best countries in the world. So, it is not necessary to give importance to English.

What are we doing in our educational system, just adapting western culture?

In India, in ancient times teachers were treated as God or said as Guru. Gurus were followed by their student till their death. That time guru provides quality of education and they focus on student’s talent and help to enhance their talent and make them perfect. Guru do not put burden on students, there were no exams, and no grading system nothing but still student had more knowledge than today’s student have. Now education based on quantity not on quality but earlier education was totally based on quality.

Why students are happy getting highly paid salary job but lack of ambition to become entrepreneur?

Lack of ambition may be the reason earning money is becoming the only aim of every student as only money is consider as respect statue in our country. Person having a highly paid salary and earning enough money will get respect from the society. As to live happily in this country you have to earn more than enough money because money is the only thing that can bring happiness to your face.

How does education need to change to accommodate everyone?

The overall is to ensure that school is place where all children participate and are treated equally. Every child should participate in every activities, this involves a change in how we think about education. Inclusive education is an approach that looks into how to transform education systems in order to respond to the diversity of learners. It means enhancing the quality of education by improving the effectiveness of teachers, promoting learning-centered methodologies, developing appropriate textbooks and learning materials and ensuring that schools are safe and healthy for all children. Strengthening links with the community is also vital: relationships between teachers, students, parents and society at large are crucial for developing inclusive learning environments.

How do curriculum need to change to improve learning and encourage the inclusion of all pupils?

An inclusive curriculum addresses the child’s cognitive, emotional and creative development. It is based on the four pillars of education for the 21st century-learning to know, to do, to be and to live together. This starts in the classroom. The curriculum has an instrumental role to play in fostering tolerance and promoting human rights and is powerful tool for transcending cultural, religious And other differences. An inclusive curriculum takes gender, cultural identity and language background into consideration. It involves breaking gender stereotypes not only in textbooks but in teachers’ attitude and expectations. Multilingual approaches in education, in which language is recognized as an integral part of a student’s cultural identity, can act as a source of inclusion. Furthermore, mother tongue instruction is the initial years of school have a positive impact on learning outcomes. In Zambia, for example, mother tongue is used as medium of instruction for the first three years of schooling with positive effect.
